Rev. Dr. David Nenyi Ampah-Bennin is a Commissioner of Police (COP) and an ordained minister. He has a passion to reach the unreached for Christ by holding crusades, especially in rural areas where it is difficult to get access to good Christian materials, and by establishing Evangelical Churches to enrol more people who do not know Christ to know and accept Him.
Dr. Ampah-Bennin was commissioned into the Ghana Police Service in 1988 and has risen through the ranks to become a full Commissioner of Police, having worked for over thirty-five (35) years in the Service. Over the course of his career, he has held several key leadership positions within the Ghana Police Service, including Director-General, Welfare; Director-General, Technical; Director-General, Public Affairs; Director-General, Intelligence; and Regional Commander for the Greater Accra, Volta Region, and Central Region.
Currently, he serves as the Director General/Special Duties of the Ghana Police Service. For his hard work, diligence, integrity, and excellent leadership ability, he was awarded Chief of the Sector Commander in November 2005 for the African Union Mission in Sudan. He also serves as the Chair for the Frimpong-Manso Institute’s thematic area on Media, Security and Cyber Security.
Dr. Ampah-Bennin is a product of Adisadel College and holds graduate certificates from the University of Ghana, Legon (BSc. Administration – Accounting option) and the University of Cape Coast (M.A. in Human Resource Management). He also holds a Doctor of Divinity from the CICA University of Canada and the USA.
He is married to Mrs. Mercy Ampah-Bennin, and they are blessed with eight (8) children.
