Dr. Manful is a seasoned environmentalist and climate change expert with international experience. He holds a BSc Hons (Chemistry); MSc (Environmental Science) MSc (Pedology), PhD (Environmental Technology)
He worked with the Environmental Protection Agency for a period of seventeen (17) years rising through the ranks to the position of the Director of Operations. He had oversight of the Agency’s work related to mining, manufacturing industries, and environmental assessments and permitting. He pioneered EPA’s work on climate change. He is a veteran climate change negotiator also served as a Vice President to the UNFCCC representing the continent of Africa of COP Bureau.
For a period of almost seven (7) years, he worked with the United Nations Climate Change Secretariat, Bonn – Germany with responsibilities including Head of Global Environment Facility Liaison Unit and Capacity building and also as a Senior Advisor to Executive Secretary. Between May 2005 and May 2015, he worked with the United Nations Environment Organization (UNEO) Headquarters, as a Senior Programme Manager, Climate Change. He was responsible for supporting over seventy (70) developing countries in Africa, Asia, Oceania and Pacific as well as Eastern Europe and the Caribbean regions in preparing scientific and policy reports climate change.
Since October 2015 he served as a senior consultant (Senior Climate Change Advisor) to Ministry of Energy, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia on national climate reports and carbon management systems as well as to UNDP, UNEO, UNFCCC and ECOWAS.
He is a family man and currently serve as a deacon with the Glory Chapel, Assemblies of God, Ghana.
